AT A GLANCE:
I recently had the good fortune to get together with the wonderful folks at Territory Dispensary in Chandler to see the location and sample some of their products. This review is about the aforementioned strain, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t comment on the storefront itself. This spot is clean, bright, & inviting, on their website Territory states,
“Our goal is to change perceptions about cannabis by creating a safe and inviting environment where you can expect the value, quality, and customer service every time you visit.”
I gotta say, they delivered big time. There is no lobby, just a nice open floorplan with a lot to see. Check in at the front desk and begin browsing right away. Well lit modern style tables and cases line the center and perimeter of the main space. On the tables you’ll find all the flower, which is housed in sanitary containers that make it easy to smell and view the nugs. The team at Territory have created an environment that feels friendly, inviting, and most importantly professional. I spoke with James who told me they felt very fortunate to have secured such a great location among other local businesses in the community. It was important to them they be intentional about helping shed the stigma surrounding cannabis by making the space feel safe and normal for all patrons of the shopping center. I really respect this goal, thanks to their location, Territory could be a first glimpse into the world of cannabis for many. I can confidently say if that is the case those passerby’s will see a storefront that feels like a familiar up-scale retail experience instead of something taboo, bad, or unsafe.
Visual Aesthetic
Delicious, frosty, out of this world. This is a good looking nug, vibrant greens beneath a healthy scattering of beautiful orange pistils. Definitely a sexy nug.
Aroma
Think about the smell of walking into your Grandma’s house at Thanksgiving, it just feels good, right? This strain gives you that same feel, it just feels good in the nose, in the body, and in the soul. A deeply layered aroma that has a strong pungent base with lighter notes of earthy and citrus tones to tickle the nostrils just a bit as the smell passes through. I love the smell of this bud, just a solid classic smell we all know and love.
Taste
This strain has a mellow earthy flavor to it compliment by a slight twist of citrus punch. It’s a medium bodied refreshing taste that swirls about the mouth and is gone with the wind of the exhale. Makes for a light and tasty joint but do yourself a favor and load up a snap in a clean piece of glass and burn it down. I really liked the taste when smoking this strain from my favorite bubbler.
Smokeability
Speaking as a consumer and not from the knowledge base of a seasoned grower, I think this is a well cared for plant. The smoke is smooth, flavorful, and really doesn’t prompt one to cough even on larger draws. To sum it up, I’d smoke it any chance I get.
Stone
The stone from this strain is killer. A clean, energizing, exuberant high that can help you get any job done. I’ve been more productive this week smoking this strain in preparation of writing this piece than I have been in a good while. The interesting thing is that this strain is a 60% indica hybrid according to the menu listing for this strain on Territory’s Leafly page. I’ve never experienced (that I can recall) an indica strain that has produced this type of result for me. When smoking this strain put on some good tunes and work on a project, go enjoy nature, or find a cute dog to play with. It is one of those strains that just makes the grass a little greener and the air a little more crisp.
Takeaway
This is my first taste of the calibur of product that Territory is producing and it does not disappoint. The flavor is there, the quality is evident and I have high hopes for the other samples from Territory I’ve yet to try. I really dig this weed and this place, good people working to help elevate the industry and caring about their patients. I say if you’re in Chandler stop by, if you don’t get out that way often, make a trip and check them out. No better time than this weekend March 9-11 for their grand opening where killer deals will abide all weekend long.
